Good to know you're learning something :D

Don't worry about them complaining... I realise how annoying it is. I've gotten a new mic and computer now so it's not an issue :D

How do you add a raster texture, to a vector and be able to create 100% vector art?

Watch this tutorial and find out.

Find this tutorial useful? Please favourite it.
Use raster textures like this on vector and want to prove to others it's 100% vector cos you followed this tutorial? Link this tutorial to your deviation.

I ran a poll today... which one of these, if any, is 100% vector?

Image One
Image Two
Both?
Neither?

Well this is to prove a point... and the point is that infact one of them is 100% vector and the other is a vector image with a raster texture on it... and you too can make a vector with a texture on it which will be 100% vector.

I used the following for this video:
(which includes stock from: [link] [link] and several of my own brushes)

Apologies for the sound quality - this is a new computer and I can't find the software I used to use.

And at the end of the tutorial, you will find the answer to the poll.

Is it possible to use raster textures to create 100% scalable vector art? ^ChewedKandi answers that question with From Stock Texture to Vector, a wonderful video tutorial that demonstrates software techniques to help ensure that your vector art remains infinitely scalable to any size without fear of pixelation. It's a perfect feature for February's Vector Resource Fridays. ( Featured by FantasyStock )

@08:07great tutorial! I enjoyed your comments…purple roots with ginger ends…snowing again...

i've found that lowering the Document Raster Effects Settings down to 72, Live Trace runs much, much faster.

@08:07You know, I've always brought my line art into Illustrator to make it a vector (so much cleaner to work with in photoshop) but for whatever reason it never once occurred to me to try that with textures.

Love this tutorial, and very happy I watched it! Thank you!

I have been doing more and more in it, but I've been using photoshop for over ten years so I know it really well. I seem to be a slow learner when it comes to Illustrator, but once I figure out some more of the basics I'll use it more often.
