I've been planning this vector and concept for the past 2 months... gathering stock and even getting someone to pose for me... and yet it took just a weekend to vector. Seems a bit of an anti-climax... but let's just say it's 2 months in the making.
The concept: It's Mother Nature and the circle of life... how even though things are born of her, things die of her... she is ultimately the one controlling it's balance.
When I was a child, I used to make shadow puppets with my hands... and how Mother Nature has her right hand holding the worm, is what I imagined a birds head would be. Surprisingly I couldn't find the appropriate stock for that.
Anyway... speaking of stock:
[link] - initial inspiration for the nest and the image used for the face [link] - used to make the ivy brush (unreleased) [link] - the cute kitten wanting the birds [link] - the birds wanting the worm [link] - the flowers
My own brushes used: Also my new Bokeh brush (soon to be released now I have an example of it's use).
Huge thank you to =artemisa-69 who willingly posed for me and put up with me asking her to retry many positions until I got the stock I needed for the body and hands.
Thank you to =pixelledanddead, ^pica-ae and ~mikaZign for giving me constant feedback and advice on this. You guys have kept me sane.
And also it was inspired by =pixelledanddead who inspired me to use more colour in my work.
Loads of thank yous I know, but I truly believe this is my best piece to date.
Gorgeous!! I'm a fan -- of your artwork (and your shared resources, including brushes & tutes). On this particular piece, I love the theme, attention to detail, and the feminine touches.
