theEpicsThe theme was to create a vector piece which was influenced by the song by Muse - Undisclosed Desires. You can hear it and see the video:
[link]I listened to the song over and over again and I got a strong feeling of a man wanting to control his partner. Especially with the chorus in bullet points of "I want to..." - it felt very demanding of the girl.
So with the feeling of the music itself (I hear a lot of almost plucking of strings) and the theme of control... I wanted to have a puppet theme... but a kind of twist on the puppet.
She's been released from her strings, but is it really what she desires?
You may have noticed a few line art based pieces in my gallery of recent... I'm going through a phase and want to tune the line art skills I have.
Now the model is.... ^
brgtt, although slightly modified for exaggerated eyes, nose and lips to accomadate for my line art atyle. She was a great model and I thank her a lot

I'm really torn about this, I love that she's making eye contact, but I keep wondering how much the piece would change if she wasn't making eye contact with the viewer, almost like we've walked in on a personal moment. Nothing bit, but just a thought.
One thing that actually bothers me is her hand. It looks almost like it's broken. Owing to the theme that you're going with, I think either the hand reaching toward the viewer or an open hand, possibly palm up in a supplication type position would have been better and also would have been more interesting visually.
Although I'm not sure if it would help, normally puppets have more strings, but then that might ruin this really fantastic minimalistic look you've created.
Also, I'm not sure how you are on the euww factor, but actual rings or hooks in her skin - for the wire - could also have reinforce the kind of theme you're going for.
Technically, this is stunning, it's what I like in vector: smooth and clean. Although, I wish that you had minimized the highlights of the hair and let the hair be it's own shape. The hair flows beautifully especially once it hits the ground, the highlights are kind of stiffening the flow. Also, I think that having so many small shapes by her face detracts from it - this is just something nitpicky that doesn't actually bother me, but I did notice.. All and all awesome job, I loved seeing this piece! Keep up the amazing job.
