Quite nice for a first attempt at typography, I think Like many things, there are no shortcuts when it comes to this genre of art, and it takes quite a lot of practice, as well as understanding of composition/use of space, while never diminishing context.
I like the emphasis here on certain words by increasing their size, to give them the necessary weight, however the constant skewing of vertical versus horizontal makes the viewing experience somewhat confusing. Also the "slimming" alteration you've applied to some of the text disturbs the overall flow.
It seems that what you're trying to achieve here is simplicity, especially with the use of one font. While you've succeeded amiably by an astute sense for communicating with colour, the overall effect, in itself, could be much improved by further experimenting with the position/sizing of the text to achieve what I think is key to any design... balance
Like I said, keep at it, if this is something you're interested in. Working solely with typography is certainly onerous, however that being the case, creating something truly compelling is that much more phenomenal.
