Tuts+ Workshop: Create by You, round one.
---------------------------------------
Hey Guys!
As per last entry, I've started my new role as Associate Editor over on
VectorTuts+. I'm LOVIN' it so far. It's a part time position and I have to hold myself back from working more hours than I should!
I've always been open to the fact that you should grab self promotion opportunities when you can (if they are appropriate for you)... be it
Self Suggesting yourself for a DD or other things. With this in mind, if you're a vector artist, there are several ways I can help!
Inspirational Artwork PromotionPart of my new job is to post inspiring vector illustrations/typography on the
VectorTuts+ Facebook Page, as well as anything of interest such as interesting articles etc... please feel free to send me a note with a piece of your best art work linked or your portfolio etc... and if it's to the quality standard expected, I'm more than happy to share the link on the Facebook page (over 35k likes at present!). Please don't be offended if I don't feature your work.
Tuts+ WorkshopsOn a regular basis, the website has a Tuts+ Workshop or Community Project which is often a bit of a challenge. You're provided with a template and you're free to modify it to the theme of the challenge. You don't need to spend hours creating your entry and it's just for fun. However entering into the project you do get to share your creation as well as your portfolio link/bio with the thousands of VectorTuts+ readers!
Critique WorkshopsCritique Workshops! On a regular basis we invite readers to submit a piece of their art to be offered to others to critique. Read more on our recent
Workshop Article, who received loads of great feedback! All abilities are welcome and you may gain some great advice on how to improve.
What have you created with VT+'s TutorialsThis is a NEW project which is coming up and that's to share the art work of those who have created something by following one of the tutorials over on the site. You could have followed a tutorial word for word or gained a couple of techniques and used them in a new piece of art. If you're interested in taking part, please sent me a note! All abilities are welcome!
There are plenty of other opportunities available for all abilities. As always, feel free to drop me a note and I can see what I can help with
We're working on a new project for the coming weeks --- fun to be paid to run these sorts of things!
