i actually started using vectors when i was an internal for 2 weeks in 2000, it was a print shop so we used to trace client vectors etc. Later when i was in art school i learned Freehand and Photoshop and used it for designs. But i learned so many programs back then, i did everything. (Flash and Cinema 4D, which both are based on vectors)
When i joined dA i wasnt really making any art of my own. I started browsing the galleries and liked vector and vexel art. Then someone (probably `brgtt) made me join a vexel collab and i started making vector and vexel myself (now i know all my vexels are vector, cos back then the description wasnt clear at all and i didnt really care).
The vector community on dA is a really great experience, cos there are many helpful groups and great artwork to be inspired by. Most people are really nice and helpful and so you can always find someone to help you and give feedback.
I started vector without knowing it was vector... And DA vector community taught me EVERYTHING about it. ...Now I've just realised that since I use a lot of blur effect, I'm not in the vector field... Do you hate me?
Well think about it... your work is like 99% vector and 1% raster... does that class you as a multi media artist? No, cos your skill set is in vector, it's where your knowledge is and your craft.
The vector community on dA is awesome! I discovered it about 2 years ago (from you) when I entered a vector contest for Valentine's day! I hadn't done any vectoring (aside from my 9-5) since college. That contest, and the friendly and inspiring community, got me back on my vector feet again! I've always loved doing vector work mainly because you can scale it and it prints perfectly (something very valuable in my line of work), and it always looks super clean! I love being a part of this community! Thank you for introducing me to this!

Why try doing some work which is 100% pure?
Yes, I'll try to make something 100% vector! It sounds like a great challenge!!
Thank you for your positive words!
