I think it's good to get praise from people that know your medium, but I feel like it's more telling, the salesman in me anyway, to get praise from people outside of that bubble just for the pure simple fact that I don't really share art to wow my peers as much as to try to communicate something meaningful to people outside that bubble in the world.
I agree with you, Shar. Praise from people in general is quite awesome, but when teachers from the Art & Design Academy told me my graphic work was really strong, it felt just a tadbit even better. And generally indeed, getting compliments from other vector/vexel-artists (or painters when I've painted) feels good because you know they know what they're talking about. Or something.
