Description

I haven't really followed the reference all that well, but I do think it looks a little like *mishmishmash - the sexeh woman that she is :eager:

I tried to use gradients to add a more dramatic lighting effect on it - does it work? Thoughts?

I've had a lot of fun doing this one and if you wanna see the WIPs - they are in my scraps o/

First impressions? Fantastic. The face is beautiful, and I think your skin techniques could be considered flawless. When I saw this in my inbox (since you submitted it to vexelove) I knew it was by you; your art is recognisable and that's a really good thing.

You have improved upon the reference in your choice of colours with the 'paler' pink tones for the hair and lips and using green in the eyes. It suits the subject wonderfully.

I wanted to critique this piece, however, based upon the hair, and so the 'devious rating' is based upon the hair alone and NOT the piece as an entity. The rest of the artwork I feel is absolutely amazing and there isn't a thing I'd change, but I do personally think that the hair could use some work.

I think it feels too 'sharp'. There are too many hard strands and it doesn't feel smooth. The black areas of shade are a little too dark in some places, so maybe some form of base layer system would make up for that. Maybe also some wider strands at lower opacities rather than thin 'singular' strands may help with the smoothness and softness of the hair. Some varying width strands would help too, especially the few strands of hair that go over her ear. Having them all uniform thickness feels unrealistic and less neat than it could be. The same can be applied to the eyelashes.

This is mostly based on the hair on the left hand side of the image, as the hair on the right hand side has a much smoother and neater look to it, possibly due to the lack of black and that the strands appear more as though they go all the way down the hair as a whole from root to tip, which can help in some styles of hair such as this one.

Overall, great work.
